Dr Sebi’s diet plan to be healthy

The “approved foods” list for the Dr. Sebi alkaline diet consists of alkaline-based fruits, vegetables, whole grains, nuts, seeds and other plant-based foods that purportedly strengthen the cells (otherwise known as “cell food” by the brand). Additional diet rules, such as drinking a gallon of natural spring water daily and avoiding alcohol, serve as guidelines on how to navigate this eating pattern properly.

Approved foods include:

  • Fruits, such as apples, figs, dates, elderberries, berries, pears, plums, peaches, mangoes, olives, soursop, cherries and plum tomatoes
  • Vegetables, such as kale, chickpeas, mushrooms, avocado, cucumbers, okra, squash and zucchini
  • Grains, such as quinoa, spelt, amaranth, wild rice and rye
  • Nuts and seeds, such as hemp seeds, brazil nuts, sesame seeds, walnuts and raw tahini butter
  • Plant oils, such avocado oil, grapeseed oil, hemp seed oil and uncooked coconut oil
  • Herbal supplements, such as hemp extract and herbal teas (i.e., elderberry or ginger)
  • Spices, such as basil, oregano, onion powder, pure sea salt, thyme and pure agave syrup

Additional diet rules are as follows:

  • Only eat “approved foods.”
  • Drink one gallon (3.8 liters) of spring water each day.
  • Take branded supplements an hour before taking other medications.
  • Avoid animal or “hybrid” products (foods that “did not evolve themselves” and instead have been bred over time, such as potatoes, kiwis and beets).
  • Completely avoid alcohol.
  • Refrain from eating wheat and replace it with “naturally-growing grains” that aren’t leavened with baking powder or yeast, such as quinoa and spelt.
  • Don’t cook with microwaves to avoid “killing” the nutrients in your food.
  • Stay away from seedless or canned fruits.
  • Consistently follow this diet indefinitely to see healing results.

According to recipes on the brand’s website, a Sebi-approved menu plan may look like:

  • Breakfast: Avocado and chickpea toast
  • Snack: Baked or raw apple slices
  • Lunch: Quinoa and kale salad
  • Snack: Cucumbers and guacamole
  • Dinner: Creamy mushroom stroganoff
