Greek and Indian Cosmology: Review of Early History

Greek and Indian traditions have profoundly inﬂuenced modern science. Geometry, physics, and biology of the Greeks; arithmetic, algebra, and grammar of the Indians; and astronomy, philosophy, and medicine of both have played a key role in the creation of knowledge. The interaction between the Indians and the Greeks after the time of Alexander is well documented, but can we trace this interaction to periods much before Alexander’s time so as to untangle the earliest connections between the two, especially as it concerns scientiﬁc ideas?
